Amchoor dates chutney work as a great substitute for the regular imli chutney which takes much more time and is quite difficult to make. This chutney is also good for health as compared to the imli chutney.
Amchoor or mango powder is made using green raw mangoes, which are cut, dried in under the sun and then pounded into powder form. It is used in making chutneys, stir fries or pickles and in many other food items. This powder is often used to add a tangy flavor to the dish without adding moisture to it. Given below is the recipe for the chutney.
Servings – ½ cup
Cooking time – 10 minutes
Preparation time – 2 minutes
- 2 tablespoons of raw mango powder/amchoor
- ½ cup of jaggery
- 1 cup water
- ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon of garam masala
Mix the amchoor into the water and bring it to a boil on medium flame.
To the water add grated jaggery and continue to stir it until it dissolves.
Now add the spices and mix them gently.
Cook the chutney on low flame to get the right consistency.
Keep aside cool and serve with snacks.
